Yet another demolished Detroit skyscraper has been added to my skyline, The Park Avenue Hotel was opened in Detroit in 1924 and was demolished in 2015 because the Ilitch family refused to move a loading terminal for the Little Ceasers Pizza Arena, they wanted to initially demolish both the Park Avenue and Eddystone hotel but a compromise was made and the larger and more luxurious Park Avenue was imploded to make way for a loading terminal which could have been built elsewhere preserving both historic landmarks but was not.
