Performance: When not venting fuel cells, performance is sluggish and velocity is lost on turns, while acceleration is excellent. When venting fuel cells, can easily be compared to small jetboats. However, the maneuver is high risk and only recommended in combat situations.

BACKGROUND

Due to the Iyectan navy being woefully undersized, extra measures were needed to ensure a naval defence- namely, mines. The Traverser-Class is designed to maintain a defensive perimeter at all times, and its mines utilise Iyectan vessels' low submergence in water so that Iyectan ships are uninhibited by perimeters it sets. They are relatively popular with crews due to their low combat risk, their legendary potential for speed and their comparatively spacious interior. (ha ha guys yes i know it isn't done yet)

INCIDENTS

Largely due to the efforts of the Scorpion fleet, no mine laid by these ships has yet been triggered. However, the emergency speed boost has been used before, when TML-2 Fluke's shakedown run was rudely interrupted by a patrol boat from another Minecraftian power. While efforts were made to analyse the approaching ship, flight took priority over fight and the Fluke ran to fight another day.
