USS Arleigh Burke Flight IIa- Destroyer (Created by LemonGem3021668)

The Arleigh Burke class destroyers are the first Destroyers in the world to carry the Aegis radar system. Concived in the 90's, the Flight I Ships can carry up to 90 missiles and a SH-60 Seahawk. Capable of speeds over 30 knots, the Burkes can keep up with any warship currently in service with the US navy. The Flight II Arleigh Burkes, starting with USS Mahan, added additonal crew quarters and improved living spaces, and also have improved Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD). The most recent Arleigh Burkes are the Fight IIa. The most notable change is the addtion of a helicopter hangar at the stern, along with new Electronic Warfare Countermeasures (EWC). The DDG-51 class will remain the forefront on American Naval power for many years to come.
