the uss Durham was a American aircraft carrier built in 1941. the production of the uss Durham was completed on the 5th of may 1941 the ship would serve in ww2 first hunting German submarines in the Atlantic. in 1943 the Durham was sent to the pacific fleet three months before the battle of the Bismarck sea and survived though being hit by four Japanese aerial bombs. in august of 1943 the Durham had been just in time for the Americans won the battle of vella gulf. in 1944 how ever during the battle of Saipan the Durham was being focused by imperial japan with torpedos and bombs. late the ship would have a oil spill on the deck and the deck caught fire then five aerial torpedo's the ship would sink with 767 lives lost and only 1091 would survive to be picked up by a American light cruiser Birmingham

this ship was to carry 65 aircraft and the crew would be 1858
