Level 37 : Artisan Architect

The Thunderchild, a design for a starship I got from an artist I found on Deviantart (his name and details are attached to the original artwork). The ship is roughly only 1/3 scale and is a variant upon the designs of an Excelsior class star ship.

I've completed the outer hull, had to make a few changes to the specs, for example I had no idea where the shuttlebay was so I simply added an entrace for it, but think it still looks ok.

I've also sorted out the decks, made a central and two smaller shafts to get around the ship. Next I start making rooms and stuff.

feel free to use some of my shuttles for the ship, i think the type 5 should be the best option :)

Actually, most of your shuttles would work in this. The hanger entrance I made is quite large and the bay itself able to fit 3-4 shuttles in a pinch (without being stacked on each other) XD

its just the type 5 is from the TMP era with the excelsior style hull you have :)

Ahhh, makes sense! I <3 the design of this thing, kodo's to it's owner (Thomas Raube), but I couldn't find the shuttlebay on his scematics XD so made my own ones there.

if its hull is anything like a Centaur class, the curved triangular bit that bulges out a little on the bottom front of the hull is the shuttle bay, or the cargo hold :)

I had a suspicion that it might have been that, but because the whole thing is only 1/3 scale it's too small for me to use as a bay... Oh well, I did my best.

Very nice, albeit a bit misleading. The USS Thunderchild is an Akira class ship from Star Trek: First Contact ;)

Not really, this was based upon some fan-art I found, which I believe was supposed to predate the next-gen stuff. This would have been more around the Kirk era. That and we know names are reused each generation.

Our server isn't normally whitlisted... But our hosting company stuffed something up on Friday and can't fix it till Monday, we'll remove the whitelist then.
