The V-19 Torrent Starfighter also referred to as the V-19 Torrent Interceptor was one of the first interceptors used by the Galactic Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. The V-19 saw widespread use early in the war, seeing action at the battles of Teth, Quell, Kamino and Sullust. The V-19 was ultimately the predecessor both in purpose and usage to the Aplha-3-Nimbus V-wing which was introduced later into the war and went on to inspire the TIE line of ships which would see widespread usage under the Galactic Empire after the fall of the Republic. During the Imperial Era the V-19s saw usage in planetary defense forces including the Botajef Defense Force which mounted a rebellion against the Empire. At least one V-19 Torrent Starfighter was also used in a Resistance operation against the First Order lead by Poe Dameron around 50 years after the Clone Wars had concluded.
