The Book of Halegron server is the continuation of the Silver Age Roleplay server's story. This server takes place in the world of Araethon, a world inhabited by four races: Dwarves, Elves, Humans, and Orcs. Araethon is not a safe haven-it is a very troubled and unsafe land, laden with war, intrigue, betrayal, and monsters. You, the player, must strive to survive in these lands and make your way to the top. Book of Halegron has a fluid RP system where even the poorest of the poor can rise to ranks in the government and military, and nearly anything is possible. Players drive the RP by creating and destroying alliances, conquering other nations, discovering new lands.

When you first join our server, you will see that you have spawned in the temples of healing, a small territory in the center of Araethon where different magi and healers, as well as those who prefer not to take part in any fighting or warfare live. Do not be fooled however, because once you leave the land owned by the temples wardens, things do get dangerous. As you embark on your journey throughout Araethon, you can forge your own destiny, and will be capable of great things. You can have jobs that range from a simple human farmer to an orcish warlord. You can change the destiny of Araethon in ways no other can.

When playing on Book of Halegron, the use of the Dokucraft or Misa texture packs are encouraged. Skins must reflect your character and race. We use a class system where you pick a class when you enter Araethon and that class gives you certain perks and abilities, while taking away others so that you can have a more specialized gameplay experience. Magic is a dying art in Araethon, and magi who will teach you spells are rare. However, anybody can learn spells as long as they have a valid teacher.

Because this server is very much focused on social interactions between players, we have a system for marriage and children. If you are married to another character and have a child, you are allowed to ask me to put a name in the children wanted section of this post. People can then apply to RP these children.

Classes:
(1) Warrior: Generic chainmail wearing fighters.
(2) Archer: Those who use leather armor and fight with a bow.
(3) Woodsman: Woodsman are woodcrafters and those of nature.
(4) Craftsman: Craftsmen are those who can mine and shape metals and stones.
Although these four classes have restrictions, we want gameplay to be based on fun as well, so all classes can use up to stone tools. Warriors and archers can train one armor class up as well. There are a plethora of different specializations that one can learn as well (such as cooking, alchemy, etc. One can learn these through RP training. More information on this near the bottom of the thread.)

We are also developing a custom RP system that is totally new to the minecraft RP server. More information will be posted on this at a later date, but it will include stats, rolls, and feats.

The four races of Araethon have lived there for three centuries, after escaping from their homeland to the far west. They were driven out of their homeland during the Titan Crisis, an experience only remembered by the few survivors of it (You cannot apply to be the survivor of it). The Orcs were the first to arrive, the Dwarves second, the Humans third, and the Elves fourth. They have been living in relative peace, sometimes having small skirmishes along borderlines, but nothing very serious.

Meanwhile, the Cherzian Empire across the ocean has just fallen after battling a strong force of Necromancers and their minions. They have been forced to flee their homeland and travel across the sea. They have just arrived in Araethon, and must now interact with this new world, with new races that they are not used to.

Tensions are rising between the four races of Araethon for a plethora of reasons. A mad king rules the Human nation. The Orcs and the Dwarves are beginning to fight over an enchanted forest between both of their territories, which is said to hold a secret in the center. This is no surprise, however, Dwarves and Orcs have been having territorial disputes since before the Titan Crisis. The Elves, who have remained in solitude on their island in the south, have begun to expand and create colonies on the mainland, causing the land in between them and the Orcs to be contested.
As tensions have risen, the Cherzians arrive, causing more disorder throughout Araethon as they must deal with these new arrivals.

Religions (A work in progress)

Vorism
A monotheistic religion based on the belief that a God called the Vora commanded the "Lesser Companions" (e.g. the Old gods) to create the world. The Old Gods then betrayed him commanded the inhabitants of the world to prey to them. After the Titan Crisis, during which the Old Gods died, the Vora returned and offers people redemption for their worship of The Old and Treacherous Gods. It is the most common religion in à ræthon.
I
It began in the Void, with the Vora. The Vora created the Old Gods to be his Lesser Companions. The Vora made the Lesser Companions swear oaths to him, oaths that made strong their companionship. Then, the Vora made the First Command. "Thou shalt createth a world. A planet that is filled with mountains, lakes, rivers, plains, deserts, tundras, taigas, and swamps. Thou shalt nameth this world, "Ymirion", and thou shalt protect this world. Thou thalt createth inhabitants of this world, and protect them. Let that be a testement to thine faith to the Vora. If thou hast true faith, then thou shalt protecteth the inhabitants of this world and thou shalt tell them of me, the Vora, and how I created you, and how I am the reason for the life of all of the beings of this Universe." The Lesser Companions created the world, as The Vora had commanded them to. They created the Elvenkind, and the Dwarvenkind. And later, the Humankind.
II
The Vora left the Lesser Companions and retreateth to his home of Vestelheim. The Lesser Companions watched over Humankind, and Elvenkind, and Dwarvenkind. But the Lesser Companions made the Fatal Mistake. The did not telleth the inhabitants of the World of the Vora's presence. The Lesser Companion's greed and lust for power drove them to proclaimeth themselves as the True Gods! The Vora did not knoweth this, because the Vora trusted the Lesser Companions. For years and years to come, The Lesser Companions, now known as the "Gods" watched over Mankind, Elvenkind, and Humankind. Proclaiming themselves as the "True Gods". They toldeth the inhabitants of Ymirion to buildeth great temples to them. For years, the Elvenkind, Dwarvenkind, and Humankind were tricked into thinking of the Lesser Companions as the True Gods. This lie caused chaos in Ymirion. It caused the splitting of the Elvenkind into the Alfwarkind and the Uruks. The Dwarvenkind fled underground to escape the terrible chaos. ::III ::This chaos caused the splitting of the World. And so the world splitteth into three parts: Agazatra, Nümerion, and The Holy Land, à ræthon. It splitteth into these three sections because of the chaos caused by the Lesser Companion's treachery.
IV
After many years of the Lesser Companion's treachery, the traitors betrayed themselves! A traitor group known as the Titans turneth against the "Real Gods" and so came the Titan Crisis, during which all of the Titans and all of the Lesser Companions died. This left the world of Nümerion scarred, and all of its inhabitants were forced to leave and come to the holy continent of à ræthon. They were educated and taughteth by us, the Monks and True Believers. For they were victims of the Lesser Companions, and they did not know better.

The True Believers kneweth that Chaos occured everywhere after the Titan Crisis. and they spreadeth the word that The Vora had cometh back to watcheth over his believers. And The Vora watches over us every day, and every night, to protecteth those who are faithful to him. ::VI ::So be faithful to the Vora. He is the True God, and has learneth from his past mistakes. Do not be tricked by the False Gods again. The Vora haseth no arguments with Humankind, or Elvenkind, or Orcishkind, or Dwarvenkind. They were all tricked by the Lesser Companions, and the Vora offers the Four Races a chance to redeem themselves.[/spoiler]

Rules
No spamming

No harassment.

No griefing, world grafitti or destroying of landscapes. (For example: 1x1 block towers, buildings that are cobblestone cubes, floating trees, torch spam)

No sharing account information. You may not share accounts with someone else.

No inappropriate or offensive usernames (you won't even get whitelisted if you have an offensive name and possible banned from the forums)

No use of hacked or modified clients that give you an unfair advantage. Nobody can use flymod (There is a difference between creative mode and flymod).

No exploiting of bugs in the game or the plugins. Bugs must be reported to a moderator or admin as soon as they are discovered (People who report will be rewarded).

If you are RPing something that could be taken offensively (e.g. rape), or anything that might cause the other person to feel uncomfortable, please ask them OOC before doing it. You cannot recall out of an RP scene without both parties agreeing.

If you have two accounts, you may not use them together to pursue one goal (e.g, you can't have a blacksmith and a swordsman so that one of them can defend the base and another one can build it. The two characters have to be separate.

No disrespectful behavior towards admin and moderators, always do what you're told by them. (they can punish you by /kicking, /burning, /killing, etc. if you don't follow the rules)

You must stay in character in the RP chat sections of the chat

No power-gaming or meta-gaming.

Do not use glitches in the game, or any plugins to your advantage. Instead, report them.

No making buildings that do not fit into the setting of the world.

No use of inappropriate character skins.

You may not know magic before joining the server unless approved in your whitelist application.

If a player consciously disrupts or destroys rp for other players they may be banned. The (()) to indicate that what you are saying is out of character are only to be used for things that help roleplay. Anything that does not help the roleplay will have to go into the OOC channel. You cannot say ((lol)), ((Can I have my items back?)) Or anything like in the local channel. That will have to be done through whispers. If you don't know their IGN, ask them. In addition, please do not tell us every single detail of your minecraft life to us (e.g. "Hey look, a flower. Oh guys! I just found a pig! Woah. A wall. Might as well go around it!")

Economy
Depending on demand of certain items, prices can vary. Suggested minimum price for tools are the materials, plus 10 deniers for profit. Here is a rough estimate of what main blocks are worth:

Villages and Towns

Villages and Towns are settlements that players can create on their own. They can either be under the jurisdiction of a nation, or in the wilderness. To create a village within a nation, one needs permission from a nation leader, and after that, permission from a moderator. Nation leaders with usually require that you have appropriate resources and citizens to build a village. Towns are a maximum size of 25x25 blocks. Once a village is built, mayors can petition their nation leader to let their village be a town, therefore letting them expand to a maximum 50x50 blocks. Again, nation leaders will usually require them to have enough resources and citizens for an upgrade. Villages and towns within the jurisdiction of a nation have the advantage of the law, protection from bandits and attackers, etc. If one is to build a town outside of the jurisdiction of a nation, they are subject to harder RP death rules, no laws, and more stealing (anybody can steal, no restrictions). If you want to build a wilderness town, you must have moderator permission. Any towns, nation or otherwise, will be destroyed by a natural disaster should they not have moderator permission.

War

War is a conflict between two nations, in which each nation declares war on the opposing nation's towns, cities, and regions. War declarations on nations must be made 2 days in advance, sieges must be made 1 day in advance, and raids 12 hours in advance.

Races and Capital Cities:

Humans- The jack of all trades. Humans are known for their pride and numbers. They are a mix of many different ethnicities: Cherzian and Yarlak (you cannot be these two) from Agazatra, Halegronian, and Kalu-ak from Nirania (Nirania is now abandoned. Do not use it in your biography). They have no distinct specializations, but can choose from a variety of them.

Orcs- Descended from the Uruks of Nirania, the Orcish nation consists of a race of warriors whose ferociousness is matched by nearly nobody. They live in the harsh deserts of the west. They are known for their natural strength, and can wear one armor class above normal (e.g. warriors start with iron armor, archers start with chainmail.) They are also the only people who can handle cactus.

Elves- The Elves live on their isolated island south of the mainland of Araethon. Although they migrated to Araethon with the rest of the races from Nirania, they have lived in solitude for many years, having minimal contact with the rest of the nations of Araethon. They are known for their magical potency, as well as their archery skills. They are very agile, but lack in physical strength. They are the only ones, aside from dwarves, who can craft glowstone. All elves can craft mushroom soup, regardless of having the chef perk.

Dwarves- The shortest and hardiest of races, the dwarves are loyal and have strong constitution. They are naturally very sturdy, living in the harsh mountain conditions, and their capital is underground, under the northern mountains. They are the only race, aside from elves, who can craft glowstone, and they can also work with clay better than other people (e.g. turn clay balls into clay blocks and vice versa)

My father died of a horrible war and mother could not bare with out my father thus, she went suicide leaving me with no family i've searched and searched for family or cousins and found no one so i give my self, To any warlord worthy of an army of orcs to fight for ally or a single enemy. I hope that father and mother watch their son fight, live, have a home, and have a family. So i wish to find family (if any one will take me as cousin brother ect) and if i do not ever find family. I will give myself so any Warlord that is orc related Before that. Me and my Mother and Father traveled from a town that was in ruins when the General of the town defence called for father to fight most of the men went to fight and none returend for those who whent to fight I saw I SAW from the broken wall my father die not but only a few yards from me. I wanted SO BAD to grab a dead man's sword jump off the wall and slit the throut of man that killed my father I still to this day want revenge my mothers, sucide i could not help that was her choise to leave me. Mabe she thought i would go suicide to join her id rather not i will fight and fight till i die with a honerable death

Define Roleplay: Roleplaying is the act of immersing yourself and acting out a character. Depending on how you have envisioned that character you need to act out situations
and tasks in a manner in which you find most resembles that characters, and thus you are basically acting out a role of a person so as to suit the environment in which they
are present.

What is Meta-gaming?: Metagiming is when a person uses information gathered OOC (Out Of Character) and implements it IC (In Character), or uses information IC they know but
that their character would not know. Basically metagaming is when a person uses enhanced knowledge which makes no RP sense for their character to know so as to usually benefit
themselves.

What is Power-gaming?: Powergaming is when a person gives their character some sort of "super-human" advantage, or they do not give the other character a chance to return RP,
such as a person who sneaks behind someone and cuts their throat thus immediately killing that other character. Traits such as enhanced fortitude or unfair action which is not
justified through legitimate Roleplay is powergaming, Basically it gives a player doing this an unfair advantage over other players, as they make it so that their character
has some sort of non-RPly justified superiority or advantage over other characters. Thus they usually augmenting situations so as to suit themselves at the cost of other
player's experience.

Who can use flymod?: No one is allowed to use Flymod. Also in my opinion a person flying around would heavily ruin immersion.

Character Biography (should be at least 250 words):
Nandaro son of Hirion, spent his life with his people amongst the shrubs and leaves of their majestic island of Tunayy. Just as his father had been and all men before him, of their ancient House of Malthenorn, the Golden Tree, Nandaro was heir to be Steward of the Elven in times of need and in the Kings absence. His bloodline was one of the oldest and most respected Households amongst the Elves, and for centuaries have been the Stewards to the Elf King and Elven people, and should the Elf King's bloodline ever fail to provide an Heir to the Throne, Nandaro's House would be the successors of this, hence since early age Nandaro had been prepared for these duties should they ever fall upon him. But these were merely stories to Nandaro when he was young, he spent his childhood with his people hidden away and isolated from the other races and foreign influences, where he grew amongst the trees and the winds which swept across his beloved Elven Island. As men in his family had done before him, as a child he spent his days and nights running through the forests and woodland groves, but he held hands and played chase with his beloved Saava. During the days they would play and climb trees, all whilst together, and at night they would lay in the woodland groves in forest clearings, gazing up at the stars as they felt the warmth of one-another. Nandaro would spend most of his life in the forest for weeks at a time, when Saava would return to spend her time with him this is when he felt the most comfort, amongst the leaves, branches and gentle touch of the woman he knew he would wed one day.

Growing up he had always been compared to his Grandfather who also found the most comfort and joy amongst the forest as Nandaro did. When he grew out of childhood he spent much time with his Grandfather, who continued preparing Nandaro for his duties as Steward and also taught him the honest craft of molding, shaping and crafting wood. Thus his Grandfather taught him many things to serve both him and his people, the most important of which were to be Noble, Just and Safeguard his people, to obey his King and be prepared should he ever need to take his seat, and to aim to do no wrong and be upright in all acts. His Grandfather also thought him things he had not learn as a child whilst trampling through the island's woods, things which would bind him closer to what it is to be an Elf, he taught him how to be an Elven Woodsman, to respect nature and only take what is needed, never more, to understand and feel life around him, he thought him how to act and move like an Elf.

Once Nandaro had grown a little older still his Grandfather took them off of the island's shores into unfamiliar forests. Here he taught Nandaro to be silent amongst the trees, how to move slowly and swiftly without notice, how to track creatures and how to disappear and meld with the leaves and branches. He taught Nandaro how to survive in both friendly and hostile lands which he had not known off, and though him to use and wield the bow. They spent much time practicing and taking aim at targets and tree trunks and Nandaro began to show skill. One night Nandaro began to track a stag with his Grandfather watching, he found it by a stream drinking, silently and quickly he took aim for his shot. As he pulled back the string to his cheek and released the arrow, the arrow was set loose and mid-flight the stag turned his head to Nandaro, and he and the stag crossed gaze in a moment vivid to him. Suddenly the stag dropped as its heart had been pierced. He felt much regret and remorse for this kill, and this left him unwilling to use the bow again, but his Grandfather would not allow this. He understood his grief and regretted doing so but he forced Nandaro to perfect his use with the Bow, he taught Nandaro of 'Nature's Balance' and how slaying a creature is just if done so to continue one's owns life, he also prepared him as best as he could should he ever need to take aim at a person so as to defend himself and others. As much as Nandaro was haunted by that stag he could not lay down his bow, both as an Elf and the as Steward one day he would be. They remained there in those woods for some time, until his Grandfather had finished teaching him, after which they returned to the Elven Island and to Saava which Nandaro had missed deeply.

As Nandaro grew into an adult he perfected his craft and was ready for his future duties, he attuned himself with nature more greatly than before. He would be seen walking into the forest with his harp and would not return for weeks. Occasionally those who would wander into the forest at night would hear a harp echoing in the distance and distant gentle singing. At the young age of 61 Nandaro married his beloved Saava. He told her all his secrets as he had always done, and even though many years had passed he still remembered the stag, she comforted him and he learned to become at peace with it, his only regret was that the stag had witnesses its death rather than having died peacefully unaware. Due to Saava over the decades he learned to weild the bow without disgust or unwillingness, she had helped make him become at peace with what had happened. Now that his kinsmen have begun to have more contact with the other races, he feels he will perhaps wish to someday see the foreign forests off of his island's shores again, and perhaps visit the Elven colony and foreign towns and cities he has heard of, so that he may put his Elvish carpentry to market if the people found their have a taste for it. He has also now come of age and must stand as Steward to his Elven people should they ever need him, but he stands prepared, as all men in his bloodline have done before him.

What are your character's ambitions?: To do good by his Grandfather and Father's memory.
To preserve nature and keep his peoples Elven Island and lands safe from all dangers.
To grow old with his beloved wife and raise a family.
To carry out his duties well.
To journey to foreign land.

What are your character's strengths?: Knowledge of the forest.
Good survival abilities due to closeness with nature.
Empathy for all creatures and beings.
Keen hearing and sight.
Intelligent.

What are your character's weaknesses?: His empathy may betray him against brutal foes.
He is quick to anger.
Tends to view Non-Elves in a lesser regard.
Has a fondness for smoking.

What are your character's fears?: The death or harm of his Kinsmen.
That war would come to his home.
The destruction of nature.
Starless and moonless nights.
The death or harm of his loved ones.

A guard walks up to you and tells you that you have been convicted of treason. What is your reaction?: You ask due to what accusation? Then you say to the guardsman you'll cooperate so long as you are treated with respect and brought forth his Commander.
