Hey guys. I made a cute decora girl, and she comes bearing a message.
She is black. And she is beautiful.
There isn't enough representation in the Minecraft skinning community.
The majority of skins in our community are Caucasian. I am not pointing fingers, because I am guilty of this too. And I personally feel that it is time to change that, especially with what's going on in politics right now.
We need to help represent our black brothers and sisters in the Minecraft community. We need to help them to feel included in our community.

Even if you are white, you should help, and participate. And help make Minecraft a more inclusive place.
This is not an event. This is not a trend. This is a call to action.
If you can, donate to some charities, if you can't, sign petitions. Ripples turn into waves if enough people participate.
Donate to Black Lives Matter, to the George Floyd Memorial Fund, to the Elijah McClain Memorial Fund, to Justice for Breonna Taylor, and sign their respective petitions.
Because even though this is a Minecraft website, these issues infiltrate our community.
So make a skin. Make several. Sign petitions. Donate if you can. Spread the word. Show your support to the black community as best as you can when they need it most. Be an ally.

i mainly make cacausian skins because I don’t really make original character, they’re usually based of characters or people who happen to be cacausain. But when I do make an original character, I try to make them darker. Being a POC myself, I always try to make my persona skins match my darker skin tone, but I always end up white washing myself, which is something I need to change
And I applaud you. Being white I have no idea what it's like, but at the very least I do know that life is hard for POC. Living in fear of government entities such as the police is something I will never be able to relate to. But I'm going to use my privilege for good and help the community as much as I possibly can. Because even from an outside perspective, I know that what's being done by the white people in positions of power is not okay. I hope to someday see a world where future generations will uplift each other for their differences, rather than knock one another down over something as silly as skin tone.
