The Adlet is a creature from Inuit (Eskimo) mythology. The legend starts with an Inuit woman who married a large red dog (she was outlawed from her village for this unnatural act). The woman gave birth to 10 half-human half-dog creatures. These creatures were called Adlets. These creatures were cannibalistic carnivores (meaning they hungered for Human flesh). The woman sent 5 of them of in a boat to escape the villager's wrath, (which eventually ended up in Europe), but the other 5 escaped. These soon became the basis for many myths and legends.
A basic description of an Adlet:
- Reddish-brown fur
- Pointed yellow canine teeth
- Walks on 2 legs, but runs on 4
- Very sharp dirty claws
- Extremely vicious
