Archeopteryx
This pokemon is based off of the Archaeopteryx, which is the believed to be the ancestor of all birds. They lived in 150 million years ago in the late Jurassic Period. Their fossils were found in Southern Germany, where at the time, it was part of the archipelagos when the climate was warm and tropical. Its pokemon counterpart however, is a little bit different.
Archeops
In the mainline pokemon games, you always get archeops by reviving the plume fossil. But before you can revive it, you have to find the fossil first. The fossil can be found by either receiving it in Narcene City, Relic Castle, or using rock smash in Glittering Cave. This tells us nothing of Archeop's habitat, but the mystery dungeon games can.
In the mystery dungeon games, Archeops lives in the forest, rocky mountains, and ice biomes. It can be found in the forest of shadows (1F - 14F), Canyon Foot (1F - 14F), Freezing Pillar (1F - 9F).
