The Australian Magpie is a large passerine native to Australia. Contrary to it's name, these birds aren't actually magpies. They're not even Corvids. They're actually Bell-magpies and are closely related to Butcherbirds.
These birds are famous around the world because of their aggressive behavior to everything and anyone that crosses their path during breeding season. In New Zealand and other places they've been introduced, they are a common pest and usually get shot. In Australia they are a fully protected species, as they are native and in decline.
There are eight subspecies of Australian Magpie, and are either Black-backed or white-backed. This skin is based off a White-backed Magpie.
