Just for clarity, many people call this character leaf, because of Pokemon Leaf Green, however her name is actually Blue. Many people think Blue is the Male rival but his name is actually Green. Basically, there was a translation error because the Japanese characters for blue and green are very similar. Thus the games and manga flipped their names so no one got confused.
