I haven't made a skin in a month lol, always good to see that I still am capable (x Back of the head is weak, but I cannot be bothered to fix it.
Idea:
Inspiration came from a song called Tool Assisted Speedcore (check video at the end). This song is very trippy, with a lot of break- and speedcore elements - this gives it a sort of "glitchy" or "laggy" feeling, which is what I took off from. So the idea of corruption stems from there, the rest of the character was a combination of the background image for the song being a girl(?) with red hair, and then otherwise I just wanted the primary colours to take centre-stage.
Execution:
Black can basically fuse into any colour, so basing off the 3D glasses, using red above and blue below should give a quite animated effect for the corrupted elements of the skin. To make sure it wasn't all boring, I did some shading in the innards of the black elements.
Ghosting effect: Taterman88 had proven this concept in the past on his Ghost Yoda skin, so I just analysed what he did and geared it to fit what I needed in a more appropriate way, as his usage of the effect is a bit too heavy for my liking. Thanks to Taterman for proving such a concept.
Colours: I decided to go high-saturation, as I feel like that makes the black corruption effect the most effective. This ensures high contrast and provides a real "ka-pow" feeling when you see it.
Song:
On another note, I really hope PMC becomes less wall-post based and random. The content seems less and less inspired at this time, and I just do not understand or appreciate the direction the community has taken - this is probably also just a sign of me getting older. I guess I am just disconnected from what the site currently is, and am only hanging around due to the nostalgia of what it was - we'll see how long that lasts.
Don't just subscribe to people because a wall post tells you to do it.
