It looks like you tried to add some shading in the skin, but the colors blended in together too much. I can see it, but it's barely visible. I suggest playing with the shades some to get it to stand out a little bit. I do like the concept though!

Another suggestion is perhaps making the end of the cap part of the hat as opposed to part of the head. It'll give a small 3D effect.

If you don't use it, I recommend McSkin3D. It's helped a lot with my skins. Plenty more options than McSkinEdit (besides, that program is severely outdated).

I am aware that MCSkinEdit is horrendously out of date, but it is the best free skin editing software that is available to me, because I'm on a Mac. I wish I could use MCSkin3D :l

Ah. That is most unfortunate. In that case, you may have to select colors manually. Try not to use colors that are too similar, and by this, I mean color shades that are only 1 or 2 shades darker. This will make it harder to see, and make your image seem flat.

Thanks for your recommendation! I usually use colors that are precisely two shades apart, but I'll try to use more distinct colors now!
