You have skinning abilities, but in my opinion they are to light. You need big bold colors that stand out. For each color, i have 4 more choices. Because i darken it with hue and saturation. So lets say i pick red, ill have 2 lighter reds and 2 darkers reds. And then ill add to it.

Your shading is what my friend use to do, good but just doesnt stand out. Instead of 10 little darkened bits, to say 5 bigger and more bold bits
