Julius Caesar was the founder of the Roman Empire. After a series of events leading to the fall of  the Roman Republic, Caesar ceased ultimate control and founded what would become one of the most influential countries to ever have existed.

Caesar did not found the Roman Empire. His nephew Octavavian(Augustus) was the first Roman Emperor actually.
