This teenager, Bill has enjoyed Halloween for the past 16 years, toting huge sacks of candy down his neighborhood streets. This year he put on his usual festive sweater and a Ghoul mask that only the very small children find scary. As a 17 year old kid he hangs around with his friends Paul, Jewish, and Gilson who dont all ways make the smartest decisions but usually never get in trouble, but that is about to change.
After a long night of being shunned for being seniors in high school by bitter parents they go down to the power lines, a long path of long grass across the whole town. They would camp out here every week or so. There, there is a small swampy lake with an island about 60 square feet that is only accessible with a small dingy they found one day. The 4 kids start a fire and begin drinking and smoking for entertainment. They then decided to set up a tent, which took much longer than it should have, wobbling around and making high mistakes.
An hour goes by when they start getting a little crazy from the piles of candy they ate along with all the alcohol they just consumed. Two kids decided to go have a war with all the candy they didn't like while the other two pack the bong for the dozenth time. They played some of the dankes dubtep ever out of their boombox (from www.Dropcliff.com) and go in the tent to clambake. Their friend Kyler calls and wanted to come down and join them with a strip of acid, 2 tabs each. We had never taken acid before.
Gilson and Bill go to the shore to pick him up where he talks about the coyotes he heard on the way through the woods, but they are all ways there making noises. on the shore they all put the tabs under their tongues for about 15 minutes before things get... weird.
Kyler asks if they were feeling it Paul imidiatly responds with a no, Gilson chuckles and says a lil. Kyler and Bill both say they dont know. Jewish doesn't say anything. They ask Gilson what hes feeling and he says like he is so mellow he was partially underground. the group of kids laughed hysterically at his goofiness. a few minutes later of out Bill was leaning into the fire watching a twig catch on fire with great content on his face. Kyler was very hyper and was yelling that he was "tripping sack" numerous times. Paul had went to take a leak then he stated the whole ground was swirling around and he couldn't see anything clearly. Jewish was still silent, just watching the rest. they asked if he was okay and he smiled and said he was just nervous and really tripping out. T geeking he dubstep was literally effecting their eyesight.
Bill took out his mask from the candy bag to better reach at his candy, which at this point was "like the pebbles at the bottom of a fish tank". Kyler asked him what his mask was for the night and so he put it on. "A Ghoul" he growled from under his mask. Everyone is stricken with a straight face. Pauls was uncomfortable with it and swiftly said "take that shit off! its creepy."
Seconds later a flashlight shined from the shore, and a mans voice yells something, but they cant hear it over the music. so they pause it in hope to hear someone friendly. But it was the cops. Jewish freaks out ans starts preparing to swim. Paul who was most clear headed took all the bags and other important luggage onto the boat. Bill stopped Jewish from swimming, and Gilson and Kyler start watching the cops. They are all tripping complete balls. Then all five hop into the boat that seats 3 at best, and barely 4 and start rowing to the opposite shore. Jewish is thill freaking out and managed to tip the boat splashing in tons of water. he jumped out and swam for it. The other four boated alongside him to land. Their candy was soaked and but took it anyways booking it into the pitch blackness.
After a solid minute they slow down and try to relocate when a pack of coyotes start howling and barking. They screamed and fan, they laughed and yelled for a mile. They stopped and took a breather for a few minutes and smoked a bowl. They had felt strangely safe, undisturbed. But the police started to head in their direction with lights. But they hide and blend into the grass and leaves. they were about 100 feet away when they turn back. They finished their bowl and walked all the way to McDonalds in the next town over tripping balls, looking like garbage and eating soggy candy until 6 the next morning.
And that was their last Halloween.
