It is said that every type of land, or biome if you must, has a heart, a soul. This heart or soul controls the growth of life in that land with magic. 

Only a few claim to have seen these embodiments of the biomes, even fewer claim to have been attacked by these after either killing wildlife, or cutting down trees.
