Hex Mercer is Hero's father who had been corrupted by the Innari disease. He is Hero's sworn enemy and is the leader of the other diseased Innari.

The disease is spred by being bit or scratched by a carrier or victim of the virus. Once the virus reaches the Innari's brain, they become a zombie to the virus, causing them to act aloof and prejudice.

These diseased Innari go by the given name, Shadow Innari.
