Joan's (or Jehanne) crusade was through divine intervention. At the age of 12 she had a vision to drive out the English from France.

Joan of arc was eventually given an army and ran successful battles.

Joan faced a trail for heresy at the end of her life and was burned in a public execution in 1431.

Years later Joan was found to be innocent and was declared a martyr.
