Fun fact: Despite shoulder pads appearing with the Elimental kimono (elimental robe) suits on every ninja in the TV series, only Lloyd's physical minifigure has them in his Elemental form. For Kai and Jay, this can be explained by their vehicle setups inhibiting them from wearing the armour but can be given their shoulder pads from their Zx armor from the 2012 sets.
