My medieval knight is a foot soldier and not a regular knight. My knight has a cross because during the dark ages of the old Roman empire Christianity was rapidly spreading. Also Christianity was legalized by Constantine after he had a vision of a christian symbol and was told that "in this sign you will concur". Constantine did as he was told and did indeed end up winning his battle that came the next morning. After this happened many other soldiers did the same, thus helping the spread of Christianity.
My knights back story is that his name is Markett the Brave. He was a poor beggar in the collapsing streets of old Rome. During one of his afternoons he saw the glint of a swords metal yards away. After investigating he claimed the sword for himself and named it RELUCEO meaning "glint" in Latin. He practiced daily with his trusty sword, and one day while he was practicing a army general was paroling the area for Franks (french group of invaders that sacked Rome during its collapse) and saw Markett practicing in the streets. The general stopped and confronted Markett and had him join his army. This General's name was Constantine.
After winning many a battle Markett ended up becoming the armies General after Constantine died due to unknown causes.
