Otherwise know as icefish this fish is still having new species discribed. It lives in seawater -2 degrees C and 4 degrees C. There are new kinds that live in warmer climates in up to 10 degrees C and can be found in Zealand and South America. This kind lives in the Antarctic. They do not have a swimbladder like a majority of other fish. They do have lipid deposits in the tissues and reduces ossification of their skeletal structure. This fish has evolved a couple interesting adaptations that let it live in the cold ice shelf in Antarctica. They can live in many waters in the southern ocean because of their antifreeze glycoprotein in their blood and other body fluids. Some kinds don't have this antifreeze in their blood and young ones have very little if any at all. Most animals have 45% hemoglobin in their blood, but the icefish only has 1%. This doesn't affect them because of the high oxygen in the cold waters where they live in. These fish expand twice as much energy in cardiac output per second than the ones that have the antifreeze because at cold temperatures oxygen solubility is increased by a lot. This species of fish is rare in the species flock and compared to other fishes this one has less red blood cells.
Background of this specific fish -
He was birthed just 5 years ago when he started his adventure alone. He was locking for a spouse. After they had their things tockin care of I brought the male with me, copped down his body structure, and made it into a skin.
( Background just for fun, not real )
