I messed around with the colors a bit, but here's a remake of Tempest by SILVERxFLAME that I made for DinowCookie's 100 remakes event :)

ur so underrated 💫
1. avoid using max/zero saturation.
2. hue-shifting can make the skin's colors look better. For example, if your base color is red, you could use orange/gold colors for the highlights and purples/blues for the shadows instead of just using lighter/darker shades of red.
3. I've found that using transparency (like using the pixel brush at 30% opacity or so over the skin's base colors) can help blend colors together. While it can sometimes make the resulting skin a mess, it can also work nicely.
