Daniel Condren (born April 13, 1995), also known as RTGame (or Magistrex in Minecraft), is a YouTuber and live streamer of Irish-Canadian origin. Renowned for his humorous commentary during gameplay, he frequently engages in unconventional or mischievous approaches to gaming. His journey commenced with video creation in 2011, followed by streaming in 2016, and a notable surge in popularity during 2018. As of now, his YouTube channel boasts over 2.8 million subscribers, while his Twitch channel has attracted more than 1.2 million followers.
Hailing from Ireland, Condren is born on April 13, 1995, and he is the child of an Irish father and a Canadian mother. He enjoys dual citizenship in both countries. Trinity College in Dublin was his academic destination, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English literature in November 2017. Throughout his academic journey, he participated in a gaming society, triumphing in a Mario Kart tournament and securing the moniker "The Drift King." This title has evolved into a popular meme cherished by Condren and his subscribers.
The inception of Condren's YouTube channel dates back to August 13, 2011, and merely five days later, he posted his first video—a Terraria Let's Play. His video production for Team Fortress 2 began in 2012 and continued until 2018, when he transitioned to crafting diverse content.
Early 2018 marked Condren's relocation to Tokyo, driven by his aspirations for an English teaching career. Unexpectedly, his YouTube and Twitch channels experienced an unprecedented surge in popularity, compelling him to forgo his teaching plans. Instead, he devoted his time to streaming, video editing, and content publication. Noteworthy gaming videos from this period centre around The Sims 3, Planet Coaster, and Cities: Skylines. His return to Ireland during the summer of 2018 was swiftly followed by his YouTube channel crossing the one million subscriber mark. Joining Yogscast's annual charity event, Jingle Jam, in December 2018, Condren played an instrumental role in raising $3.3 million.
From 2020 onward, Condren enlisted Cloé as his video editor, a fact frequently mentioned during his streams. His standout videos have featured Minecraft building sessions orchestrated for his Twitch subscribers, a 13-day (in-game time of 2 days) pursuit of a shiny Wooloo in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and a unique Hitman 3 gameplay where he incapacitated every NPC in the Sapienza level, cramming them into a meat freezer and subsequently attempting to eliminate the entire populace with an explosive canister (which, alas, resulted in a "meat shield" formation). An additional highlight was Condren's charity-driven Mario Kart stream dedicated to the character Daisy, benefiting an Irish cancer charity.
In December 2022, certain videos on Condren's YouTube channel faced age restrictions. He contested that the platform was "retroactively restricting videos that violate recent policy changes." This issue garnered significant attention when he released a video discussing the matter. Subsequent to facing criticism for inadequate communication about policy shifts, YouTube announced its intention to revise the guidelines.
