Fives was a clone trooper in the Domino Squad during the clone wars which bareley passed training. during the atack on the reshi moon outpost where the squad as wiped out, the only survivors were Echo and Fives which were put into the 501st Batalion led by Anakin Skywalker. Shortly after the atack they praticipated in the Battle of Kamino in which afterwards they were made Arc Troopers. This is the armor Fives wore in the battle
