So I've been playing with styles a lot lately (like I do every few months) and I'm currently using this more cartoony-blockish style. Which is much easier to do on generic skins.
I'm not sure what looks better at the moment.

Only in the 2D Preview.
When you are idle ingame your arms will slightly drift side to side (see 3D preview) and thus will not look attached. Same with running and walking.
