The Beaconmen are passive creatures that lurk in the darkest parts of the sea, illumating the area around them with their bioluminescent heads and sacs on their body. With great light comes great attraction, predators can see them for miles, but these creatures have an interesting defense mechanism. When a predator bites down on them their bioluminescent sacs explode releasing glowing slime into the water around it. This slime distracts any predators and can even clog their gills resulting in suffocation. The similarities between these creatures and Rotters has led scientists to believe that they are related in some way. But this has yet to be proven.
