This was once a BRILLIANT(!) Redstone genius, who experimented with trans-dimensional circuitry!

But it all went HORRRRRIBLY WROOOOONG!

Not content to drink his bucket of water elsewhere, Mad Scientist Red T. Stone drank it while preparing for his latest creation: A machine that would allow minecrafters to visit a strange, new, WIBBLY WOBBLY dimension where Redstone could be placed on walls! Unfortunately, Mr. Stone was unable to see that a portal was forming beneath his feet! Oh noes!

The portal said "OmNomNom", and swallowed him whole, along with his inventory of redstone devices! Red was inside for hours, and came back... changed. Now he half redstone, and half human, and half MYSTERY! No one knows what happened in that strange other world... only that no living being has ever set foot there again - not even an enderman.
