Trunks is a protagonist in the Dragon Ball manga, and the anime series Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. He is the Human and Saiyan hybrid son of Bulma and Vegeta, and later the older brother of Bulla.

So how does he fit into the contest?

The Saiyan abilites were many and very uniquely used between Saiyans.  Ki is that of the aura surrounding a person.  This is NOT magic in use, but rather that of body energy.  This allowed them to fly and also make attacks from their own auras with their own bodies providing the energy for their attacks and flight.
