The shading is light and almost unnoticeable. The eyes' shading is in the wrong place and is too light. Your skin tone looks ashy and smudged all over, like she had pale skin but is extremely dirty. You didn't hue shift your shading. It seems you used my shading tutorial? I assume you didn't know what hue shifting was at that time. My bad :v

Every color you chose is really dark and dull. The brown hair almost looks like sewer water, and I know that wasn't intentional. I suggest some tutorials on hue shifting and shading.

Some tutorials for skins.

I appreciate this, but keep in mind this is my first skin :L
Thanks for the feedback, i do appreciate it.
(i also used another tutorial that just described basic skinning, not hue shifting so thats probably why i didn't know about hue shifting lol)

Whoa, that was a little harsh (especially coming from someone with only six subscribers... ahem), so allow me to present hephep's feedback in a less rude and far more helpful manner.

The shading, indeed, seems a little more like a collection of scattered lowlights than real shadows; I suggest adding a little more contrast between the shades. Maybe try shifting the saturation of the tones as they get darker?

As for the shading on the eyes, it's actually true that the shadows should go on the upper part. Small anatomy lesson: since the eyeball is a sphere, and it's being shadowed by a brow that's generally a good deal deeper than people tend to realize, the upper part is usually shadowed quite a bit more than the lower half, which, due to the curved face of the eye, tends to fall out of the shadowed area. (I draw realism; I spend a lot of time staring at really odd parts of peoples' faces. Heh.)

The overall areas that were shaded seem a bit random to me. I don't know if anyone's done a tutorial for it, but it's good to keep in mind the areas that would be shadowed and highlighted on a real person. Try making the insides of the arms and legs darker, as well as the sides of the torso and the bottom of the head; highlight the outer- and upper-facing parts, to give the impression that there is light shining on the person.

Your skin tone, as well, could stand to be a little more saturated; make it more pink-ish rather than grey-ish, to prevent her from looking ashy. Skin tones tend to be comprised of a fascinating range of pinks, browns, and oranges, so hue-shifting here is a great idea as well.

I, personally, can't see anything wrong with the palette for the hair. It's a lovely, deep, natural brown; the only thing I'd change is perhaps darkening the shadows a little to give the impression of varied streaks and chunks. The shading pattern on the hair looks pretty good, imo. It looks detailed and natural, and it's not just a clone of the blocky vertically striped shading that seems to be cool these days.

I hope this helped more than blunt criticism did. I'm always around if you ever need any help in a more specific area. :)

I apologise for being too blunt, I'm just not too good with words.
The reason I said it looked like sewer water was because the hair has too low saturation for the value. It's too faded to look that dark and it almost seems more like a dark grey than a brown, which to me, almost looked greenish. Again, sorry if I'm too blunt. I'm not too good with words or talking to people.
