Level 34 : Artisan Grump

The infection has gone on for 13 years now, It has spread world wide. There's no signs that it will stop any time soon. There are many stories of the loss of their loved one, but let the tale of Two-Face linger in your mind.

The story begins 2 years after the infection has started... Napa, California

The infection is strong. At this point, no one can fight it. But in many tales, there is always the odd duckling that would always stand out from the rest. That one happened to be beloved father and husband: Ares Newton. He is willing to do anything to protect his family. Ares has the courage of a warrior and a heart of a lion. He didn't often say it, but it was obvious by the way he fights the horde, not letting the tiniest tinkle of blood fall upon his wife and kids.

The Newton family stays updated with News, which still broadcasted, for the remaining survivors. Night after awful night, Ares fought the horde as the family watched in sorrow. They go far away to abandoned areas with signs of no population, from both humans and infected. The infected are easily triggered by any sound, so the family watches television in isolated areas. Finally, the news has made a report on a safety camp for all survivors to rest. It is located in the middle of America: Lincoln, Nebraska.

Quickly the family traveled to the destination. They have a quick transportation by an old rusty Ford F-100 that they have found in an abandoned barn. The family has been untouched by any type of infection, and Ares remains perfectly fine. Day and night the family travel with few stops. Ares has had little sleep because of this.

It has been about a week and they are in the middle of Colorado. Ares's eyes can not take the amount of sleep he has missed. His vision slowly blurs and goes back to normal, and repeats. His eyelids stay in the center of his eyes. They slowly start to close, his vision starts to blur...

Ares's eyes open instantly from the sounds of a forceful bang. He finds the truck that holds his family in a ditch. Instantly, the blood-gurgling sound of an infected fill the cold and lifeless air. Ares's wife takes the wheel as, he pushes the back of the truck. Time is Ares's enemy, he pushes the truck with all his force. One-by-one infected start to appear on the horizon spotting the Newton family in their situation. Ares pushes the family with all his might finally the truck is back on ground stable enough to drive again. As he tries to flea from the ditch, a cold-pale hand grabs his ankle. He is pulled into the ditch and is surrounded by dozens of zombies. The children scream in terror. The wife stares to the side and begins to drive off, not being able to handle the agony.

8 years later... Lincoln, Nebraska

The remaining Newton family has arrived to their destination. It is the beginning of a new population within the safety's barriers. The family lives in a home close to the outside boundaries of the safety cages. Time is no longer used, but the black fills the night. As the kids (Now grown teenagers) watch the News, as their custom, they both hear a solid knock on the door. The oldest walks to the door, and looks through the peephole. The front light is dim, so only half of the mysterious knockers face is showing. His clothing tattered, but his face seems painfully familiar. It's the face of his father, Ares. Amazed the boy opens the door to give his father a hug. As he opens the door, the other half of the boy's father is lit. The boy screams in terror.
