Daniel was born inside of a petty-sized house that was part of a village. In that house lived him with his mother Juliana, and his father Theo. Many other families lived there as well. From the time when Daniel was born up until he was 12 years old he had the perfect family life. His mother was a farm hand for the village farm and a great cook, and his father who was a miner. He had a great relationship with his mother and an even stronger one with his father.

But when Daniel was 11 years old his father lost his job at the local mine and was out of work for several months. They were barely getting by with the help of his mother's pay from working at the farm. Most of which was spent on ale and such by his father, who became a terrible alcoholic while jobless. His father was not an abusive drunk, nor was he a mean one. But he seemed to not care about his wife and son anymore and never chose to apply for work when it was offered. On the morning of Daniel's 12th birthday his father chose to leave them without saying a word to anyone. Instead of celebrating Daniel's birthday, his mother and him chose to roam the village in search for him but sadly, he was not found. They asked everyone in town but they were dumbfounded, no one suspected it, since they kept his fathers' problems with alcohol a secret.

 Daniel was crushed by the disappearance of his father, and it took him almost a year to finally get over it. By the time Daniel was 13, his mother decided it would be a good idea to have him get some knowledge about combat, since his father wasn't around and he was bullied often because he was a smaller lad. His mother contacted her brother Robin, and offered him a place to stay as long as he would be a role model to Daniel and help the family when in need. Robin accepted, excited to meet his nephew for the first time.

Robin arrived in town a few weeks after him and Juliana exchanged letters. It took some time for him and Daniel to get to know each other but they soon had a good bond. Robin taught the basics to Daniel of fighting with a sword and without any weapons until Daniel was 17. After living in that small village that Daniel knew so well, he wanted something fresh and exciting. He spoke with his mother, Juliana about this and she didn't seem to have a problem with it because she knew Daniel could take care of himself now that he was almost an adult.

 Daniel set off on his journey with only two sets of clothes and a sack of different fruits and vegetables. He passed through many other villages, big and small. Sometimes even campsites with many different people and he loved the adventure. The young man was hoping to find a city where he could make a living. This is where his journey begins.
