This resource pack adds the Milky Way and twinkling stars to your night sky!


Please note that the stars are dependent on the game's day/night cycle, so if you have doDaylightCycle set to false they won't twinkle.This pack was created for 1.18, but has been tested and works in 1.15 - 1.19+. It should function properly for the foreseeable future unless Mojang or OptiFine make any major changes. I will do my best to update the pack if this happens. It also functions partially in 1.13 - 1.14, but only contains the twinkling stars and no Milky Way. I may make a separate version for 1.13 - 1.14 or 1.7 - 1.12 if people want them.

Feel free to ignore the incompatibility messages if you use it on a non-1.18 version. If they annoy you, you can change the pack version number in the pack.mcmeta file.


OptiFine

OptiFine is required for this pack to function properly. You can download it here.


Conflicts

• This pack probably won't play nice with other OptiFine skybox resource packs. If you want to get another pack to work, change the numbers of the sky#.properties files located in optifine\sky\world0. Name the first one sky254.properties, then increase the number from there. More work might be required depending on the complexity of the pack.

• The skybox might conflict with some shaders that have their own night sky, such as Continuum or Sildur's. Some popular shaders that work well are SEUS, BSL, and Tea.

Credits

All programming and texture splicing was done by myself.

The original skybox texture was not made by me, it was found in a very old PvP resource pack by StatywPlay. However I can't find the original pack anymore and I don't know if Staty made the texture himself. If anyone finds the original source, let me know so I can properly credit them. Thank you!
