This pack will change the look of your hotbar, heart and armor icons, will make connection icon change color with different ping.

Quick note: If you're playing at different version than 1.20 Minecraft will tell you that pack is incompatible but it will work perfectly fine.

You can just download two packs and put this pack on top when selecting resource packs

Well it should. If it didn't work, means you did something wrong(downloaded wrong version of the pack for example)

Yes it does. You probably downloaded version of the pack for 1.20.2. There are two different packs on Curse Forge and Modrinth. One for 1.8.9-1.20.1 and the other for 1.20.2

Edit: how GUI works changed drastically in 1.20.2
