in texture packs or 'rescource packs' as they are now called.. you can add a little file to let the game know that there is animation for a certain block so you can animate every texture on every block if you wanted.. (like the water or lava or portal) so you have to make a strip of pictures that are a bit different from each other and it plays through it to create the animation..


IF i could do the same with the HUD of the pumpkin than i might add flickering numbers and every once in a while the light turns off (or appears to do so..) however the resolution for this picture would probably cause our computers to die trying to run it.. as it would mean there was 30+ frames at that resolution creating a really big picture..


how did i get the flashlight to work ? well if you dont know already ;p its just a picture with certain parts using different opacity (levels of see through ness ;p) to create an effect that looks like a flashlight / Camera.
