Don't forget you need to use MCPatcher or Optifine for this texture pack to look perfect, it uses Connected Textures.

Hi Everyone,

There be Dragons in here!  And thanks to Lockrikard she is gorgeous.  After looking at Lockrikard's images, those scales were the only ones I could use.

I have been playing Minceraft forever and was disappointed with most texture packs.  I didn't want cartoons (otherwise Sphax is excellent) and default was just annoying (even the good faithful TPs).  I discovered Forgottenlands x16 by Axel (should be default!) and liked his fresh approach to the ideas in a TP.  I borrowed his concepts as my starting point and have been polishing ever since.  A year in it is ready for a more wide release.

The idea driving my work is a TP with a more realistic feel while still have distinctive textures that clearly identify everything (thus photo-based rather than photo-real). Everywhere I can I have used an image of the real thing as the base of my block. The ores are based on actual images of the real ores.

Hi MrEvas,

I need just a little more detail in your comment. Please tell me why the spruce is too light. and I might be able to find a better texture.

Currently the spruce is the colour of unoxidised white spruce planks. This is the actual colour white spruce is just after it is cut and finished immediately. Depending on the species the colour starts almost identical but will yellow or redden with oxidation. Like it says in the description, Kyctarniq's texture pack textures are based on a real image.

Do you have a specific project for which you need a different spruce colour? I am happy to change it if there is a need.

I am getting close to understanding. There are just so many other texture packs. Are there any texture packs in specific you mean?   I am not trying to be a pain, only understand. There are so many different colour spruce planks.

like from the default the planks are brown because in this texture pack the spruce planks look like sandstone

I re-downloaded the texture pack and could not reproduce the problem. My test environment Minecraft 1.5.1 with MCPatcher 3.0.3.

Is your environment different? If it is, please post again giving me the details.

Hi Guys,

The 1.5 update is now available. If you need an older version (1.4.7 for instance), I have added download links in the Update Logs for several of the older versions.

I like how the quartz blocks have turned out and as soon as I can get CTM working with 1.5, I have big plans.

One of two things could have happened; The Planetminecraft download server was very busy, or there was a delay somewhere in the download chain.  I tested it several times and it averaged 30 seconds for me.
