No more dirty Coal!*

This datapack adds the following features:

Benefits:
  • Furnace, Blast Furnace, and Smoker can now be powered with a Daylight Detector
  • Shift + Click the top of the cooker with a Daylight Detector to connect them.
  • The furnace will be powered during the day depending on the amount of sun the daylight detector receives.
Drawbacks:
  • These panels have a 10 hour lifespan, and once they reach their maximum age they will need to be replaced.
  • Does not support hoppers.
  • Will not run at night or indoors.

This was tested in 1.16 but I believe it will also work in 1.15 as well.

Please let me know if you encounter any bugs or if you can think of any additional features to add. I'm also open to suggestions for new datapacks if you have any ideas! Thanks for viewing this page!

I'd like to credit Kikipunk and Daminator4113 for their Useful Composters datapack which provided me the functionality of summoning entities atop placed blocks, which is the backbone of this datapack.

Is it possible to still power the "cooker" traditionally during nights, or does the daylight sensor overwrite it completely? Sure the daylight system makes it for less (possibly zero) fuel usage, but if it's combined, then it would still save a considerable amount of fuel, while still granting usage during nights, when the daylight sensor doesn't power the cooker up. If it actually overrides, then would there be a possibility to make a hybrid in the future? The idea is really good, even considering the lifespan drawback, which is still a small price.

I'll want to keep track of this for the future.

What's the possibility of making the lifespan configurable? Is it easy to change if we want to?

I will work on making some settings for that that are configurable with chat commands, thank you for the suggestion!
