How To Find The Skin Editor
To find the skin editor just start from the home page of PMC(Planet Minecraft) and go to the top bar of your page. Look for the pinned section that says "Player Skins". If that section is not pinned go to the "Minecraft" section and hover over it. Move your mouse (Or whatever you are using) down until you see "Player Skins" Once you find it simply press on it. After you press on it, it should open a page with all the communities skins. On the top underneath the Featured Skins go to the far right. You should see two orange buttons. The top one says "Upload Skin" And the bottom one says "Skin Editor" If you have already made your skin and downloaded it press "Upload Skin" If not and you want to make your skin press "Skin Editor"

How to Upload Skin
If you press "Upload Skin" You should see three things Skin Title, Category, Gender and Upload Skin File. First wright the Skin Title and then select the Category and Gender then Press Upload Skin File (If you downloaded your skin it should show up) and press on your skin file. Under that you can give a description if you want and you can give credit to anyone that helped.

How to use Skin Editor
After you press on "Skin Editor" two buttons should pop up "Advanced Editor" and "Basic Editor".
Basic Editor is a more simplified version of Advanced Editor. I recommend Advanced Editor if you want your skin to have more details.

Basic Editor
If you enter Basic Editor you will see six modes.
Draw Mode: Draw pixels with a solid color, Eraser Mode: Remove or reset pixels, Noise Mode: Paint pixels of varying intensities, Color picker tool:Set paint color from skin pixels, Paint Bucket: Fully fill spaces with a solid color, Mirror Mode: Mirror the pixels to the other limb.
Above the different modes there will five options File, Edit, View, Settings Help. In file you can save your skin without publishing and you can open one of your downloaded skins you can also import a reference image. In Edit you can increase the resolution by two or decrease by two or you can switch between the Alex and Steve models. In View you can change the floor texture and sky color you can also change most things about how you view the model. In Settings you can reset the database and you can save the skin to the cloud by either pressing "Manual Cloud Save" or by pressing "Enable Cloud Save". In Help you can Report a bug, Suggest a feature, Look at whats new, Look at skinning forums, or read the About.
You can change the color of your pixel by moving the small circle on the triangle to your left. You can also rotate the triangle to change the color.
You can move the camera around the model by grabbing the screen a moving your cursor (Or whatever you are using). To zoom in and out you can scroll on your mouse (Or whatever you are using) or go to the bottom right and move the small circle on the slider up and down. Right underneath that slider there is a camera. If you press that camera it will screen shot the model. Right above the slider there will be a small square. If you press that square it will turn on and off the grid. Above the grid button there will be two models one of Steve and one of Armor. There will be check. marks above both of them. If you press on the check mark above the armor you will be able to paint in 3D. If you press on specific limbs they will disappear or reappear. Above the two models there will be a box, this box helps you know your orientation. If you press on one of the sides it will move the camera to be perfectly lined up with that orientation. Above that box there will be three options 3D, 2D and both. In the top left of the Skin Editor there will be an Undo and Redo button.

Tips
When you make your skin don't make the colors solid give them variation either by shading or by texturing.
When shading your skin I recommend using the circle on size five or four and then going on HSL and making it darker or lighter by one then slowly going in a zig zag pattern up and down.
Don't shade too much, remember that Minecraft does have lighting.
If you have a large area that is going to be the same or similar to another spot use the clone mode and a giant square to clone it over to that spot.
Use 3D and not 3D to get good details.
I you want to use your skin online you have to have completely solid colors on all of the none 3D parts. If not the colors will become solid when playing.
Have a reference image to get details. (Most people like skins with more details better)
Don't forget to fill in the insides of the limbs.
Make sure to use the bucket it is very useful.

How to publish a Skin
