La Catedral Basílica Santuario de Nuestra Señora Reina de la Paz, o simplemente Catedral de San Miguel, es una iglesia católica en la ciudad de San Miguel en el oriente de la República de El Salvador, Centroamérica.
La original iglesia parroquial de San Miguel Arcángel fue demolida en 1862 para erigir un templo más grande. La primera piedra fue colocada por el célebre presidente migueleño Gerardo Barrios en el 21 de noviembre del mismo año. El primer encargado de su edificación fue el ingeniero inglés William Kirk, pero este abandonó el proyecto poco después de la muerte de Barrios en 1865.
Aún sin terminar, la iglesia obtuvo el grado de catedral en 1913, y en 1921 monseñor Juan Antonio Dueñas y Argumedo proclamó el patronato de Nuestra Señora de la Paz.
La catedral fue concluida en 1962 con el impulso del párroco, y luego arzobispo célebre, Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez.
El estilo de la catedral es ecléctico y es hecha de varios materiales locales así como extranjeros. El principal material es la piedra volcánica, llamada curruncha, del volcán de San Miguel. La estructura metálica del techo y cielo falso provinieron de Bélgica en 1926; estas piezas fueron ensambladas por el ingeniero filipino Alberto C. Geraldo quien también inició la erección de las torres de 57 metros del campanario. Las campanas provienen de Alemania, los vitrales fueron elaborados en México y el altar mayor es originario de Italia. Es la segunda catedral con mayor capacidad en el país después de la Catedral Metropolitana de San Salvador.

The Cathedral Basilica Sanctuary of Our Lady Queen of Peace, or simply the Cathedral of San Miguel, is a catholic church in the city of San Miguel in the east of the Republic of El Salvador, Central America.

The first stone was placed by the celebrated San Miguelean president Gerardo Barrios on the 21st of November of the same year. The first in charge of the construction was the English engineer William Kirk, but he abandoned the project soon after the death of Barrios in 1865.
Despite bein unfinished, the church obtained the grade of cathedral in 1913 and in 1921, monsignor Juan Antonio Dueñas y Argumedo proclaimed the patronage of Our Lady of Peace.
The cathedral was completed in 1962 with the impulse of parish priest, and later celebrated archbishop, Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez.

Excelente trabajo amigo, me llamo la atención la forana de la cúpula y los detalles de la fachada, el interior es muy bonito pero no termina de gustarme, creo que podría mejorarse.
