Redstone meets NBT as you no longer need comparators and barrels for signal strengths! You can now use pressure plates, I made this discovery while messing around with NBT and finding out that with a simple NBT tag you can now use pressure plates for signal strengths! If you wanna play around with this, do /give @p lightly_weighted_pressure_plate{BlockStateTag:{power:"Enter Signal Here"}} 1
Just replace the Enter Signal Here in between the quotes to set it! it goes 0 - 15.

If you wanna disable, use a ticked comparator and powered redstone dust, or a powered repeater.
