- THE FORUM ROMANUM, 3RD-4TH CENTURY AD -

This is one of the more grandiose projects I've done on Minecraft, and I must say that I'm quite happy with it! This is my personal take on a reconstruction of the Forum Romanum in the city of ancient Rome. The Forum Romanum was one of the oldest parts of Rome during the time of the Romans, with many legendary monuments and sacred sites. It was the mainstay of Roman politics, justice, commerce, and socializing. It was home to many well known Roman buildings, such as the Curia Julia, Temple of Saturn, Temple of Castor and Pollux, Basilica Julia, Basilica Aemilia, the Rostra, and the Via Sacra.

This project is around 90% complete, as I have not done some of the interiors and a few other minor structural details on the edges of the Forum area outside the main buildings. I spent about 3 months working on this on and off, researching and properly scaling every building so that everything fits together properly in a good looking way. Because I was going more for aesthetics on this reconstruction, Some buildings are not 1:1, though most of them are or come close. I also made some buildings sit straight rather than diagonally (I'm not a fan of diagonal structures in minecraft!), so its definitely not 100% accurate.

I used a variety of historical resources and existing reconstructions for reference, but my main source was this 3D model.

Shaders used: Slidurs Unbelievable and ConquestOfTheSun
Texture pack is a private customized version based on Stugaces Germania 16 Pack. Many thanks to him for inspiring this project and providing this amazing pack that inspired me to build Roman structures.

Not available for download, probably won't ever be since this project isn't being worked on anymore.

Very nicely done, although if this is supposed to be the Forum in the 3rd-4th Century, why his the Column of Phocas present? Phocas was an Emperor from the 7th Century, and the column was dedicated to him, if this is the 4th Century it wouldn't exist yet.

The majority of the project portrays the Forum during the 3rd-4th century, but I took a couple of minor creative liberties in adding things that were present before or after that period in order to properly fill the entire space. I probably should've mentioned it and I owe you some credit for actually noticing it. :P

Thanks, I've got more projects planned. Perhaps some more parts of ancient Rome itself.
