For all the lovers of C418's classic soundtrack, or maybe just the people that are mildly annoyed that Mojang keeps making music play in places it's obviously not supposed to (swamp music plays practically everywhere in vanilla), this pack reworks music so that old biomes don't play music that isn't written for them! Also, makes loud music quieter, and rebalances Nether Music so that C418's tracks play more often.

An explanation of the difference between 'Bedrock Style' and 'Java Style' can be found after the features list. 'Java Style' for Bedrock Edition can be found here. 'Bedrock Style' for Java Edition can be found here.

Features:

  • Swamp Music now only plays in Mangrove Swamps!
  • Bromeliad now only plays in Cherry Groves!
  • Echo in the Wind now only plays in Cherry Groves and Badlands!
  • Subpack options to determine where 'A Familiar Room' plays.
  • Rebalanced Nether Music so that C418's tracks play more often (especially in the Wastes).
  • Caves and Cliffs music only plays in the caves, on the cliffs, and in Deserts and Badlands.
  • Quieter biome-specific music to more closely match the non-biome-specific music.
What's the difference between Java Style and Bedrock Style?

Prior to 1.16, Bedrock Edition played all its music at 10% - 30% volume, but newer music plays at Java Edition's 40% - 100% volume. The 'Bedrock Style' version of the pack fixes this issue by making newer music quieter, while the 'Java Style' version fixes it by making older music louder. This is the only difference between styles.

Known Issues:
  • Various problems may occur if using this pack with another music pack. It is suggested that you do not do this.

v1.3.2 - Deep Dark Volume Fix : by Cornbread_Alphanumeric 05/29/2024 6:01:16 amtoday

  • The Planet Minecraft releases are separated by Edition again! This means there are now four concurrent versions of the pack, those being the following: Bedrock Style for Bedrock Edition (Planet Minecraft, MediaFire), Bedrock Style for Java Edition (Planet Minecraft, Modrinth), Java Style for Bedrock Edition (Planet Minecraft, MediaFire), and Java Style for Java Edition (Planet Minecraft, Modrinth).
  • To accomodate this, the changelog has been split. Versions for Bedrock Edition will include the Bedrock changelog and versions for Java Edition will include the Java changelog.
  • Going forward, this also means the different releases of the pack will not share version numbers for minor updates, though I will try to keep them the same for major updates. This is similar to how Mojang handles version numbers between Editions.

  • Lowered the volume of Ancestry from 100% (vanilla) to 20%.
  • Added a short description of each subpack under its name.
  • Removed text "Choose where 'A Familiar Room' will play." from subpack selection as it is now redundant.
  • Added subpack "Survival Mode+". This subpack makes A Familiar Room and various tracks from the Caves and Cliffs Update play in the Overworld when not in Creative Mode, essentially reverting the selection of non-biome-specific music to how it is in vanilla Java Edition.
  • Added subpack "Old Growth Taiga+". This subpack makes A Familiar Room and various tracks from the Caves and Cliffs Update play in Old Growth Taigas, essentially reverting their music selection to vanilla, but replacing the swamp music with A Familiar Room.
  • Subpack "Menu Only" now properly prevents A Familiar Room from playing outside the menu.
  • A Familiar Room now plays at the correct weight in sound event "music.game_and_wild_favor_game" with subpack "Survival Mode" enabled.
