For all the lovers of C418's classic soundtrack, or maybe just the people that are mildly annoyed that Mojang keeps making music play in places it's obviously not supposed to (swamp music plays practically everywhere in vanilla), this pack reworks music so that old biomes don't play music that isn't written for them! Also rebalances Nether Music so that C418's tracks play more often.

An explanation of the difference between 'Bedrock Style' and 'Java Style' can be found after the features list. 'Bedrock Style' for Java Edition can be found here. 'Java Style' for Bedrock Edition can be found here.

Features:
  • Swamp Music now only plays in Swamps!
  • Bromeliad now only plays in Cherry Groves!
  • Echo in the Wind now only plays in Cherry Groves and Badlands!
  • Rebalanced Nether Music so that C418's tracks play more often (especially in the Wastes).
  • Caves and Cliffs music only plays in the caves, on the cliffs, and in Deserts and Badlands.
  • One More Day plays on Frozen Peaks for parity with Bedrock Edition.
What's the difference between Java Style and Bedrock Style?

Prior to 1.16, Bedrock Edition played all its music at 10% - 30% volume, but newer music plays at Java Edition's 40% - 100% volume. The 'Bedrock Style' version of the pack fixes this issue by making newer music quieter, while the 'Java Style' version fixes it by making older music louder. This is the only difference between styles.

Known Issues:
  • Due to limitations with Java Edition, all swamps, regardless of mangrove-ness, play Mangrove Swamp music.
  • Due to limitations with Java Edition, the lengths of the periods of silence has not been changed from vanilla.
  • Due to limitations with Java Edition, using the playsound command to play biome-specific music usually doesn't work.
  • The Title Screen may play an incorrect selection of tracks on versions the game does not read the pack as compatible with. Backports for game versions before multi-version packs are available on Modrinth.
  • Due to limitations with Java Edition and a prioritization of the April Fool's biomes, Flower Forests play their vanilla music in snapshots 24w12a and 24w14potato.
  • Various problems may occur if using this pack with another music pack. It is suggested that you do not do this.

    v1.3.2 - Arboretum Tracklist Fix : by Cornbread_Alphanumeric 05/29/2024 6:15:42 amtoday

    • The Planet Minecraft releases are separated by Edition again! This means there are now four concurrent versions of the pack, those being the following: Bedrock Style for Bedrock Edition (Planet Minecraft, MediaFire), Bedrock Style for Java Edition (Planet Minecraft, Modrinth), Java Style for Bedrock Edition (Planet Minecraft, MediaFire), and Java Style for Java Edition (Planet Minecraft, Modrinth).
    • To accommodate this, the changelog has been split. Versions for Bedrock Edition will include the Bedrock changelog and versions for Java Edition will include the Java changelog.
    • Going forward, this also means the different releases of the pack will not share version numbers for minor updates, though I will try to keep them the same for major updates. This is similar to how Mojang handles version numbers between Editions.

    • The Arboretum in snapshot 24w14potato now plays the correct music. Unfortunately, this means that Flower Forests also play this music in snapshots 24w12a and 24w14potato, due to limitations in Java Edition.
    • Removed JSON for music.overworld.desert and music.overworld.badlands since they were functionally identical to vanilla.
