(:NOTE:)
Just an idea..I'll see if I want it to keep going. There will be typos. And yeah, this is another cliche "infection" stories, bite me. :P
>:-Prologue-:<
It's been around thirty-two years since things have gone wrong, since the pandemic has broken out and taken hold of the world. At first people thought it was but a simple flu, being passed around. Truth be told, it wasn't spreading very fast; hardly anyone caught it. This was true, for a awhile. Turned out that after two weeks after showing symptoms, it became highly contagious. This was alarming for many different units and states of health; the matter was looked into as soon as such reports of these things was recieved. They placed it under quarantine and dispatched different units to put down the infected peoples. They did so quietly and efficently.
For a time, they believed they had exterimanted all signs of such disease, in a manner of which they thought none had heard. However, they would soon find out they were wrong. Dead, wrong. There was a select few people who had been infected, in the major cities. The infection spread like wildfire when it hit. No money was put into funding a cure before-hand as everyone thought the disease and all those who had it had been wiped out. It was a fairly smart decision at first, seeing on how mere research would be highly dangerous, and costly; easily within the millions. It would be millions just for a antidote or two as well, making the situation of a massive outbreak all the more dangerous, but all dangers were alleviated from their minds as they thought all those infected were to of perished.
That was some time ago, several years. Turned out that around eight weeks after the initial notion that all infecteds were put down, a outbreak in London turned up from a woman named "Makaila Hughes". She showed little to no symptoms prior to the time she was contagious, but by the time any state officals found out, it was too late to do anything that could help them. Few people had the proper strength with their immune system to fend off the disease. At that time, within a few hours of harboring the sickness in one's body they became infectious. It is obvious to see that this caused problems to the general populace. Massive outbreaks soon followed. Save for a few paranoids that prepared for a situation such as this, it caught the whole world by shock, not many had the slightest clue on as to what to do. Panic followed, all that did was add more confusion and hysteria to the already-out-of-control situation.
Not a surprise though I suppose. A cool-head in a tight situation is so rare that rash actions in such a event is practically human-nature. I'm living proof of the former statement. Not saying everyone out there is like that though, just simply an observation based on but simple statistics recorded from an even more simplistic pool of polls and surveys. I was a scientist once you know, but that matters little now. On the contrary perhaps it's everything; not in my eyes though, past actions are best left there, however one of such caticlismic

Looking forward to more chapters ;3
I guess, it'd be more of a "side" kind of thing.
" "infection" stories, bite me "
" Dead, wrong. "
Hah, very punny.
