Hey Guys! Flame here, I'm back with another blog, only this will be a remake of the 'How to: Get Mods' tutorial i made back  a while ago.

So i'm here to bring it back, because some people don't know how to get mods.

When I was a noob I didn't know either 'cause there was like, a bunch of stuff I had to do with files yup, that kind of stuff.

But now I know how to use and extract files, actually right now I'm really good at technology, lol but anyways let's get started! :D

Step 1: Forge

We need to start off with Forge, and without it we won't be able to get mods at all. Go to this website and find which forge version you want to play your minecraft mods with. Click here for Forge Versions. Once you have found your version, click download and wait for it to finish downloading. Let's go to the next step.

Step 2: Setting up Forge

Click the forge download when it's finished downloading. When it is, drag it to your desktop and open it there. It should give you these options:
Install Client .
Install Server
Extract

The option should be on Install Client. Click OK and then it should say 'Successfully client profile Forge for version (version of forge you installed) into launcher.
Ok one last thing. Open minecraft and click 'Profile' if you see the profile 'Forge' than you are good to go.

Step 3: Getting the Mods

Go to skydaz (can't add link idk y) and find which mod you want to download (make sure it is the same version as the forge you downloaded) Once you have found the mod you want, click on it and scroll down and click 'Download Here.zip'
or you can click the option right next to it which is called 'drct' It is short for 'direct' so if you click that it will download right away, no other page. If you click 'Download Here.zip' it's gonna take you to a page called 'ad.fly. Wait 5 seconds and click 'Skip Ad' It should start downloading and when it's finished open the file (NOTE: Make sure the minecraft launcher is closed before you start downloading the mod) Then click the folder with the mods name on it.
Do it again, but don't click the file that says ISharpCode. Extract it. (If you have WinRAR you won't have to extract it.)
If it doesn't work, try clicking run instead.

Step 4: Installing the Mods

The mod installer should open up next. The icon is a bit like red luggage stacked on top of each other. (idk lol) Click 'Install Mod' then it's gonna ask you if you want a backup file. Click Yes. Why? Because if the mod goes bad and messes up your minecraft, you will get it back if you have a backup :D Lol ok anyways on how long it takes to make the backup depends on how many worlds you have. When it's finished click ok or yes and it would say '(Mod name) has been installed' or something like that lol. Then to check it's actually installed, see the mod installer and if it says the options 'Uninstall Mod and Reinstall Mod' then you are good to go.

Step 5: Playing the mods

Close the mod installer and open the minecraft launcher again. Choose the file 'Forge' and click Play. Wait for it to show up and it should have mods! Thanks guys for taking the time to read this, I know that I made this a bit harder than it actually is, but lol i'm like that xD.

FAQ:

Q: Help! I keep crashing! What do I do?

A: This happens so it fine. When it crashes, look at the crash report and see if it shows the mod name. If it says '(Mod name) Errored' that's probably the mod you have to delete. If you only have 1 mod then you know which one that has to go.

Solution: Click start and type in %appdata%. Next, go to .minecraft and click mods. Find your mod that you downloaded and delete it. (WARNING: Don't delete any other files you have no idea what they mean!)

Q: What do mods do to your game?

A: They add new things to minecraft that you don't get in vanilla survival. Like new items, blocks and mobs. All sorts of things! That's why I prefer mods than just survival. More fun that way!

Q: How do I go back to my normal profile?

A: Open your minecraft launcher, click 'Profile' and click the version of minecraft you wanna play in. When you want to go back to playing mods, go to the forge profile. And click Play!

That's all for now guys! I am currently working on an Improved Flappy Bird minigame and an Adventure Map. Look forward to that soon! Thanks guys this is Flame and I will see you all guys later! BAIIII
