So Minecraft all and all is a great game and has many things great about it. When I do extensive research to find what aspects of the game people really dislikes, there is not one or a few things people just really not like. Well that's why I am here and I am going to talk about my dislikes as well as a survey I have conducted on 20 different v1.8 Faction PvP servers.
First lets start with the survey:
26% - Lack of Items - 26 percent of people strongly believed that Minecraft was descending into a item diversity depression. They often said that it is true that there are many different variants of blocks per block category (Wood > Oak, Spruce, etc.), but there are not many different types of blocks (Wood > Clay, Diamond, Beef). They believed that when an update came out, that the developers should design an item or a block that is especially unique. (Like a cloud block!)
18% - Lack of Story - These people made the smallest proportion of the survey (for whom I belong to). These people were extremely enthusiastic about their choice because they were dead set that this was the biggest problem Minecraft faces. Unlike todays AAA games (COD, Battlefield 4, etc.), Minecraft does not have a broad story line. Of course they have an absolutely unique one that combines the main mission with miscellaneous creativity, but they don't expand on it. After killing the End Dragon, the whole story line is over! Done! Zip! That's it! Instead these people believed that they should expand on the storyline every update.
33% - Lack of Entities - These people chose to have more entities (monsters, animals). I found this interesting as it became the most popular choice among the rest. I honestly thought it would be the least chosen. These people wanted more monsters and animals that had very interesting drops that could effect the gameplay of Minecraft in many ways significantly. Of course they appreciated the recent 1.8 add of rabbits and Endermites, but their drops were very impotent.
23% - Graphical Configurations - These people were interested in seeing the shape of blocks and it's visual aspect changing. Chances are these people were getting real tired of seeing cube after cube after cube. They were tired of having to rely on high definition texture packs to make the game amusing. They wanted to see things take different form and maybe a touch of realistic physics.
Out of all those topics (which I am sure there are more) I had to go with "Lack of Story". Now I love my story line. It's like reading a comic or watching a movie. It adds some mystery and thought to the game. I believe It will make the game 100x more controversial. Anyways that's my survey I have conducted throughout this week and my unbiased opinion on what bothers me the most about Minecraft and what should be changed.
Thank you! Please fill out my poll and leave a Diamond or a favorite. Also check out my new server, Land of Chander!
