PMC allows us in chat to advertise every ten minutes.We usually get people spamming it every time the chat loads up so the chat moderator can not see it.Still it doesn't mean it will get you views or it is the wrong thing to do.For example a server full of players has this member saying "Join AwesomeCraft for loads of fun best server EVER".It usually ends up as a low non-popular bab designed server.

Advertising is a way of saying "Come look at my creation" there are other ways of saying this in a better way.For example by putting a awesome display picture telling the person what you are talking about you can use a drawing or a title.
When you advertise you expect people to read it well no they will just keep talking about what they are talking about and continue on there composition.
