According to the Mincraft Forums you will not be able to use any HD or Realistic texture packs until the new update after 1.2.4. The reason being that MC Patcher has to be used and does not give the HD Texture and HD Font option past 1.2.3. So until 1.2.5 all HD texture packs will be obsolete!
