A summary of the Dragon Legacy

The Dragon legacy is a compilation of stories and epic tales that tell how the world of Ederna came to be as well as how it's history will unfold. The document is said to be written by the gods of Ederna and initially bestowed upon King Drenor, the first warlord to unite the people of Ederna. Some regard it as fact, but most see it as fiction. Either way, life continues for the denizens of the realm. In the city of Elidria, capital of the human empire, the idle speech betweens citizens slowly wakes up the city. The joyful cries of children playing games echo throughout the streets. But according to the Dragon Legacy, life was not always peaceful in the land of Ederna.

Centuries ago, humanity and his cousins were but a petty minority on enormous stage of Ederna. Dragons, a primordial race of winged beasts once dominated the world, and drove mankind deep into the mountains of the north, where they built strongholds in the edges of the snowy expanses to resist their winged oppressors. Nowadays, dragons are a rare and somewhat exalted encounter, but in the early days of humanity, dragons are said to have filled the skies in numbers great enough to rival that of King Justinians' army. The reign of the dragons ended when a feud erupted between the greatest of the dragons, Oryx and Vordeniir. Thousands of dragons sided with both individuals, and thusly, a climactic war ensued. Despite being called a "war" by the text, the fighting lasted only two days and ended when both sides were forced to retreat or be destroyed by the massive amounts of arcane energy that resulted from the fighting. This conflict came to be known as the Dragon War, and marked the dawn of a new age, the age of civilization.

To read ahead directly in the text is impossible, as the passing of time is what slowly reveals the words on the pages. Year by year, significant events are foreshadowed, and staggering predictions of the world decades into the future are made by the tome. The belief that the book supposedly writes itself is what leads many skeptics to propose that sorcery is the main force behind the oddity, and not divine origin. Scholars of Arcane fields of study (also known as Magusors) in the past have tried to perfect a method of clairvoyance  to see forward in the tome, and while most Magusors witness great and detailed images of the historic events described in the Dragon Legacy, only distorted fragments of the future are ever discovered. It would seem, as Professor Mordevin of the Arcane University would say, "The future is not told, it is written by the instruments of time"

All that is currently implied about the future of Ederna by the Dragon Legacy is that one day, the Dragons return in large forces led by Vordeniir to reclaim their land, and battle humanity for the right to call this realm home. The future layed out by the book is a grim and frightening one, but arcane advancements and technology are quickly equiping us with the ability to understand the mystery behind this fastenating work of history and literature.

Hello Minecraft Players, I hope you liked or were interested in this bit of lore I wrote for Dragon Legacy the texture pack (soon to be a resource pack). If you were confused while reading the whole thing, it's probably because of my feeble attempt to make the story seem like an article written by on of my characters XD (Also, I didn't use spell check). I'd been working on it for a couple days now, and was debating wether or not I should post it, so I hope you appreciate it. I might write more pieces to the pack in the future so if you liked this, it may be a good idea to keep track of that. By the way, the people, quotes and dating system in this story weren't made up on the spot, I actually have previously detailed such things in documents on my computer.
